The Top Has Arrived

Beachwood Canvas did a marvelous job creating the top for our Jeep. This "summer top" retains the original feeling and looks great. We are very pleased.

Christmas Accessories

We received several nice accessories for our Jeep this Christmas. Now we have an "Old School" tow rope to pull stranded vehicles out of their predicament. In addition, we have custom cushions from Beachwood Canvas to accommodate folks in the back for short trips. Our daughter and her husband found an great ice chest designed to fit perfectly in the back of a Jeep, and one of our boys gave us a marvelous Jeep blanket to enhance our otherwise inefficient heating system.

The Earliest Photos

Today I ran across the earliest photos I have of our Jeep. For decades the car was stored in a shed on my wife's grandfather's farm. He passed away in 1964. Since then her uncle has looked after the property. I knew there was a vehicle in the shed but Gayle's uncle wouldn't let us open the doors to take a look at it. I took these photos about 4 years ago through a crack between the doors of the shed. If I put my eye to the crack I couldn't see anything because it was too dark. Using the camera and flash I was able to get a hint of what was behind the doors.

They say, "If you don't like the weather in Texas just stick around a while." A few days ago Pepperoni and I were driving around with the top down and today there's a blizzard warning.

Let's Go For a Ride

It's the first day of winter in Texas and the weather is perfect for a ride with the windshield down. Pepperoni is ready to go. She loves crusin' in the Willys.

It's time to consider getting a top for our Willys. The Jeep in these photos has the Summer Top offered by Beachwood Canvas. Although it is available in several different colors, I believe the beige would best complement the black paint and red trim on our CJ2a.

This is a Military Jeep!

The Jeep in this video is an excellent example of a 1943 GPW. Folks often confuse our 1947 CJ2a with a World War II Military Jeep. The CJ stands for civilian jeep. Although similar to the Jeeps produced for the military they are actually quite different.
